Weekend Retreat at Barmoor, North Yorkshire
Friday 4 - Sunday 6 October 2013
£195 per person
A wonderful weekend of yoga and walking for those who are keen to practice in a small group setting, away from it all in a beautiful remote part of North Yorkshire, on the moors near Hutton-le-Hole. It will be a communal affair - we will eat together, practice together, and chat in front of a roaring fire. Food will be vegetarian and organic, cooked by the wonderful Selma Khan of the PeaceCake Café. The weekend is not suitable for complete beginners, but if you have been practicing any form of hatha yoga for the past 6 months you are welcome.
We will arrange car shares up to Barmoor from York. You will need to bring: Yoga mat, blocks or cushion, 2 blankets, candle; sleeping bag or duvet, pillowcase, towel, sheet, perhaps a hot water bottle; slippers and warm clothes; walking gear; any special food or snacks you may need, although we will provide full board, cakes, teas and juice.
The schedule will be as follows:

Yoga Workshop: Yin and Yang, Pranayama, Meditation and Metta
date to be set
St Columba's Church Hall, Priory St, York
Yin yoga is the practice of unhurried, unambitious floor poses which rejuvenate and energise us, cultivating inner focus and quietude. Yang yoga is dynamic and flowing, bringing strength and stability, grace and balance, agility and alignment.
Pranayama charges up our inner batteries, increasing vitality. The practice of mindfulness meditation leads us to a deeper connection with ourselves and others. Metta is the practice of loving-kindness - fundamental to happiness.
This workshop will take you through the main components of a deep hatha yoga practice, with a focus on what you might practice at home on a daily basis.
